The HIP Index is a list of contents of the Home Information Pack. It is the first document within the HIP. The Home information pack index must include:

The title 'Home Information Pack'
Contain the address of the property
Contain a list of all documents contained in the HIP
Be revised whenever a document is added or removed
If a mandatory document is missing, specify the document and reason it is missing
