Property News - Good times ahead for Swansea landlords

With huge sums of money currently pouring into the city, experts are predicting a boom time for the rented sector in Swansea.

Much of the money is enhancing Swansea's reputation as a business centre and it seems more than likely that young professionals will be flocking to the city for top employment opportunities, reports the South Wales Evening Post.

According to specialists at Peter Alan, landlords will enjoy the benefits of this migration, with demand and rents rising accordingly.

"There is a gap in the market for more corporate and professional tenants, who are coming into the city on the back of the huge investments that have been made in the past few years," said Jackie Curtis from Peter Alan.

Landlords in the city also enjoy the fact that there is high demand from students at the University of Swansea. The same is applicable to the vast majority of university cities in the UK, with landlords generally assured a steady supply of tenants looking for rented accommodation.

In Sheffield, this is particularly true, with the University of Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam University in close proximity.

Like many other cities, Sheffield is also benefiting from recent regeneration, with young workers now seeking rented properties as job opportunities improve.
