According to Hip provider Hiphiphooray, it may take some time for the benefits to become apparent but once a full rollout is complete, everyone will notice a difference.

From December 14th, all properties in England and Wales will require a Hip before they can be sold.

"I think in the short-term it will be hard for people to see a difference. But I think in the long-term… when it rolls out to all properties, then people will start to see the difference," said Lesley Sorridimi from Hiphiphooray.

"I absolutely believe in the product. If it's done properly - if it's a quality product, it's not a quick-chat pack[and] there's been time put into it - and also if solicitors… give best… advice as opposed to vested interest advice then it should all go smoothly and really benefit everybody in the long term," she continued.

Hips are currently mandatory when selling a property with three or more bedrooms.
