Student properties offer good investment opportunities for buy-to-let investors, according to Assetz.

The firm points out that in the current climate, student buy-to-let remains a good option for investors who want to see quick returns.

Student numbers are increasing annually and the rent they pay is also rising well above the average for UK tenants.

According to recent research from Savills, student rents have increased by 31 per cent in the last two years alone and Assetz says that buy-to-let investors should take advantage of the opportunities on offer.

"In today's climate it is essential that the serious investor is continually adapting their portfolio to secure the best possible returns for their cash invested. Student property has such high income that you can often repay a mortgage within 20 years, making it one of the most lucrative investment opportunities in the current market," commented Stuart Law, chief executive of the firm.

"Student numbers have significantly increased over recent years, yet the majority of university campuses are not able to keep up with demand.

"As a result, there is a huge increase in the demand for privately-owned student accommodation, with top student towns offering a near-guaranteed and fast-growing rental income and a constant and growing supply of tenants," he continued.
