There is a strong buy-to-let market in Brighton, according to one local estate agency.

There is a strong buy-to-let market in Brighton, according to one local estate agency.

Brighton & Hove Family Homes pointed out that landlords in the region benefit from a large student population.

In addition, said director of the firm Charlie Snell, many people choose to rent in Brighton before deciding if they want to buy a property.

"Brighton has a strong buy-to-let market because there are two universities here and numerous other colleges and language schools and this helps the rental market," he commented.

"Also, people who want to move here usually rent first, just to test the water, so the rental market is extremely strong.

"We have just done a survey of some of our customers just to see what people think will happen to property prices in Brighton and Hove… seventy per cent of people think that property prices will stay the same or rise," added Mr Snell.

Brighton is said to be the 'green capital of Britain' according to figures obtained by website Visit Brighton.
