Property News - Liverpool offers investment opportunities

Liverpool offers investment opportunities

Liverpool remains a good place to invest in property and the city may be the success story of 2008.

Liverpool remains a good place to invest in property and the city may be the success story of 2008.

According to property agent Sutton Kersh, this year's European Capital of Culture is likely to see an influx of buyers.

It is because of massive investment in the city and the fact that Liverpool will be in the spotlight throughout 2008 due to its cultural status.

"In 2003, when Liverpool was awarded the capital of culture 2008, there was a huge influx of investment; people were literally queuing up to buy properties across the city," said Philip Lawton, director of Sutton Kersh.

"I predict that there will be an improving market in 2008 with modest recovery on property values.

"Liverpool remains a great place to invest and recently appeared in a Daily Mail article as one of the top ten cities that will defy the house price gloom in 2008," he continued.

A total of £200 million has been invested in Liverpool's waterfront, according to the city's tourism website.
