Property investors should focus on factors such as local schools and amenities when choosing a home to buy.

Property investors should focus on factors such as local schools and amenities when choosing a home to buy.

That is according to property investor advisor Your Property Club, which said that these things ensure the long-term value of a property.

Schools, transport links and shops were named as three of the main things to look out for.

Brett Wood, managing director and owner of Your Property Club, said that homebuyers must look to the long-term when choosing a house.

"It is always the case that you have to buy with good solid fundamental things; amenities like shops, schools, transport links, major employers, major investment" he commented.

"If you're not going to do that then you're bound to get burned. As always, go in with your eyes wide open and look at the long-term.

"There's a lot of good stock out there in places that have had regeneration. Up north there are some good opportunities," added Mr Wood.
