Industry expert says it has 'never been a better time to buy'

The current downturn in the housing market means that it has become a buyer's paradise as an increasing number of properties become available.
The current downturn in the housing market means that it has become a buyer's paradise as an increasing number of properties become available.
That is according to the National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA), which has said that sellers cannot afford to wait until they get their asking price because there may not be another buyer available.
Chris Brown, president of the NAEA, said: "If you are a dynamic purchaser free of any problems: you haven't got anything to sell, or you are a first time buyer, then I think it's very good news. There has probably never been a better time to buy for a very long time."
Mr Brown has said that the current situation means that buyers, as opposed to sellers, now have "a lot of pulling power".
This was not the case one to two years ago, when sellers knew that if they did not get a suitable offer the first time around there would be "another around the corner".
