Brits waiting patiently for economic recovery

The recovery of Britain's economy is at least a year away, according to most Brits surveyed by consumer affairs magazine Which?.

The magazine's research, published on Tuesday (March 10th), shows that a whopping 80 per cent of Brits believe that the economic turnaround in Britain will not take place for at least another 12 months.

Furthermore, 23 per cent of respondents believe that the UK will be waiting more than two years before the end of the recession appears.

For homeowners hoping to sell their property, such gloom is of course bad news as an extended recession would lead to further job insecurity and falls in the number of housing transactions made.

To sell a property during such a downturn, homeowners may benefit from selling a home online, as this could attract more potential buyers.

With no estate agent's fees, selling a property online could also allow owners to secure a higher price, as the buyer will have made significant savings also.

Speaking about the research, Which? personal finance campaigns manager, Doug Taylor, said: "Consumers aren't under any illusions - they know the financial crisis will take time to sort out. The banks may have caused much of this mess but consumers think the government is best-placed to fix it."
