Landlords 'to make property investment moves'

The time many buy-to-let investors have been waiting for has arrived, according to a UK landlord website.

With property price surveys suggesting house prices have bottomed out and other areas of the industry showing improvement, Smartlandlord.co.uk has predicted that more landlords could be set to make a property investment in the coming months.

It cited a reported upturn in buying activity and the Bank of England's suggestion that more mortgages are being approved as evidence the time may be right to purchase bricks and mortar.

"This is what many landlords have been waiting for - to invest in further properties while they offer the best value for money - securing good yields for the future," the site remarked.

Online housing site Property Hawk editor Chris Horne recently explained that demand for buy-to-let mortgages has been strong lately, but lenders have been unwilling to supply the cash for what they see as a risky market.
