More property selling reported

The property industry is "more positive about future months" mainly because more homes are selling than they were previously.

At least that is the view of Stuart Law, chief executive of investment adviser group Assetz, who believes that it will not be long until property prices firm up.

Right now, he added, there are more buyers on the market than sellers, but with values set to increase the market seems in a healthier state than recent times.

His comments come after Nationwide Building Society, Halifax and other property organisations revealed that house prices went up in May.

"Without a shadow of a doubt prices are rising," explained Mr Law. "It is never going to be any better [to buy a house] than today."

Some of the property bargains - many of which were on the market during the 2008 Christmas period - have now gone, he continued.
