Landlords 'can find bargain properties'

Some landlords in the UK will be able to find some real bargain properties to buy over the next two years, it has been suggested.

According to Tim Entwistle, editor of landlord information website LandlordZONE, "selective buying of the right types of property" could yield positive results for buy-to-let investors who have the resources available at present.

Offering advice to those who purchase property to rent, he said that investors should think about how they will make money over a period of five to ten years.

"There are many positives for the UK residential property market over the coming years, so landlords should hold on if they can, focusing on good tenancy management and income," he explained.

Analysis of property type, locations and initial yields should be conducted prior to any purchase, the expert added.

Halifax's latest House Price Index suggested that the average property price in the UK was just over £160,000 in August.
