Property News - Conservative home energy grant 'could be costly'

A grant that has been proposed by the Conservative Party in an attempt to make home energy more efficient could cost a "vast amount of money", according to one expert.

Director of the National Home Improvement Council Andrew Leech says that because of this, the party will have a bit of a struggle to make it work.

However, he did go on to add: "Anything to do with saving energy and reducing fuel poverty has to be a good thing. If they can make it work, all credit to them."

Mr Leech states that people need to put a bigger emphasis on green home improvements otherwise the nation will be in big trouble as far as the environment is concerned.

The Green Deal, proposed by the Conservatives, would give every household the right to have home energy efficiency improvements of up to a value of £6,500, with the cost of this work being paid back through reduced energy bills.
