Landlords could 'secure a real bargain in 2010'

Property News - Landlords could 'secure a real bargain in 2010'

Landlords could find 2010 to be a positive year in terms of the housing market, one property expert believes.

Chris Horne, editor at Property Hawk, states that next year will see a wealth of opportunity for professional landlords who are hoping to increase their property portfolio.

"House prices are unlikely to rise in the short-term and therefore landlords can find a real bargain," he adds.

Mr Horne believes that opportunities to secure reasonably-priced property will arise both at auction and because there are more people who are being forced to sell their homes.

Upad.co.uk recently reported that 58 per cent of UK landlords feel more confident about the buy-to-let market than they did last month.

Mr Horne agrees with this - he predicts that 2010 will be a more stable year for the market in comparison to the turbulence of 2009.

He adds that tenant demand for rented property should stay relatively high, while interest rates remain low.
