Will property numbers affect a buyer's decision?

Property News - Will property numbers affect a buyer's decision?

Luck may prove a deciding factor when looking for a property, as research from an insurance firm shows the best and worst numbers at which to live.

The study from AXA reveals house number 33 to be the unluckiest to reside at, after more people suffered from burglary, fires or floods than at any other number.

In comparison it appears 76 is the best number to have, with 81 second.

Amanda Edwards, from AXA Home insurance, said: "It certainly seems that living in the block of numbers from 31 to 40 has historically been unlucky, whereas those living from 71 to 80 have been the most lucky."

However, she suggested that the most important thing is to lower the risk of claims by making sure individual properties do not suffer from poor security or maintenance.

Those debating whether to purchase a house may find typical mortgage repayments to be lower than the cost of renting, according to Santander.
