Landlords benefiting from improved prospects, expert notes

Buy-to-let landlords are likely to be seeing opportunities in the market at present, with more financial products available to them.

That is the suggestion of Property Hawk editor Chris Horne, who highlighted a number of reasons for those renting out homes to be optimistic.

Mortgage markets have recovered from the lows seen in 2009, he explained, meaning there are more options from which to choose.

And rents have been shown to be on the up over the last six months, combining with falling property prices to give buy-to-let landlords the promising prospect of increased yields.

"It looks like low interest rates are here to stay this year and probably early next year, so from that point of view finance is stable and relatively affordable," Mr Horne added.

Earlier this week, a Upad report indicated 60 per cent of landlords are now more confident about the industry than they were in June.
