Property News - Individuals selling their homes should make them "warm and inviting"

An expert has indicated people need to make their homes look inviting when putting them on the market.

People with homes for sale should make sure their dwellings are "warm and inviting", it has been suggested.

Owner of Leonard Provence Interiors Janet Eavenson said the festive season is the ideal time to make a domicile more welcoming.

She recommended individuals buy some fairy lights and put them in a glass bowl, as it looks "really pretty" and can brighten up a room.

Scented candles can make a big difference and are an affordable way of sprucing up an abode, Ms Eavenson noted.

Her comments follow that of Claire Nolan, who, in an interview with the Daily Mail, indicated people "light the fire" and make the most of the autumn using chunky-knit wools and featherweight mohair cushions and covers.

And she explained carved wooden bowls, along with vintage grey lights can enhance a dwelling's appearance, without costing much.

Last week, Susan Llewellyn of Susan Llewellyn Associates advised individuals to get rid of any clutter when putting their residences on the market.
