Tidy your property 'to increase its selling probability'

A clean house may be easier to sell, it has been suggested.

Those looking to increase the chances of selling their property might like to tidy it.

This is according to the National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA), which has revealed there is an increasing number of people looking to purchase a house around the country.

And 45 per cent of NAEA members believe having a clean abode will ensure there is a bigger probability of a house being sold.

It pointed out that getting the little things right is very important when selling a property, adding: "Making sure that the garden is well presented and redecorating are also factors which are likely to improve the attractiveness of your home to would-be buyers."

And those who are first-time buyers might find it easier to get on the property ladder as Martin Ellis, housing economist at Halifax, recently stated mortgage affordability has improved "significantly" in the past three years, despite the noughties being a tricky time for people trying to buy their first home.
