House building 'has positive outlook'

House building in the UK has a positive outlook at present, it has been clamed.

There is a positive outlook for house building in the UK at the moment, it has been suggested.

Steve Turner, head of communications at the Home Builders Federation, noted the feeling is improving because industry figures are aware that there is a huge demand across the nation.

The expert claimed the number of people in search of a new abode has been building up due to difficulties in the market seen throughout the last two years.

He explained that first-time buyers have found it difficult to enter the market, adding: "We know that there is a pent-up demand that at some point needs to be, or will be, released."

The government's Firstbuy Direct scheme is good news for first-time buyers and should result in ongoing improvement in the market, Mr Turner went on to point out.

According to figures released by the Council of Mortgage Lenders, February witnessed a small improvement in the mortgage market following a downbeat January.
