Home buyers to go for lucky house numbers?

Property News - Home buyers to go for lucky house numbers?

The unluckiest house number in the UK is 88, it has been found.

The number of a house may be down on the priority list for people looking to move home, but new research suggests those in the market for a new abode may want to give this aspect more consideration.

Carried out by AXA - which specialises in wealth management, insurance and healthcare - the study revealed the unluckiest house number in the UK this year is 88, a digit that also featured in the top ten last year.

To collate the figures, researchers looked at how many times these houses have been subject to burglary.

They discovered that abodes with higher numbers were more likely to be broken in to, with nine of the top ten all higher than 68 - and 13, generally considered unlucky by many, making up the shortlist.

James Barclay, home insurance underwriting manager at the company, said: "As an insurer it is always interesting to look at trends relating to burglaries or other risks."
