Property News - June UK house prices 'rose over the month'

UK house prices in June escalated by 0.6 per cent over the four-week period, it has been found.

June witnessed house prices in the UK increasing by 0.6 per cent across the month, new research has shown.

The figures, produced by the Department for Communities and Local Government - which has the aim of creating a free and fair Big Society - showed the rise occurred despite the costs decreasing by two per cent over the year.

According to the statistics, the average mix-adjusted UK house price in June was £204,981, while the fees were 0.5 per cent less over the quarter leading up to the four-week period - a sum that was unchanged from the three-month spell prior to March.

In all UK countries the average house price dipped during the year, with England experiencing movement of -1.8 per cent, Wales seeing -5.6 per cent, Scotland witnessing -2.3 per cent and Northern Ireland enduring -8.1 per cent.

The findings also showed payments by first-time buyers were 2.2 per cent lower on average than those recorded a year earlier.
