Landlords 'must deal with issues quickly'

Landlords should resolve any tenant issues as quickly as possible, it has been said.

Landlords should take a hands-on approach to assisting their tenants in order to make sure problems do not go on for too long.

That is according to David Lawrenson, private rented sector expert at online resource Letting Focus, who has advised professionals in the buy-to-let sector to pay close attention to the needs of their tenants.

Mr Lawrenson explained it is important for landlords to remember that are running a business and it is essential for them to deal efficiently with any sort of issue that may arise.

"It is about a close attention to detail, being able to respond quickly and getting things done as quickly as they can - that is what tenants really want," he noted.

Figures published earlier this week (September 26th) by mydeposits revealed that it experienced a 15 per cent annual rise in the number of downpayment protections taken out by tenants in August.
