Property News - Sustainable construction project to influence house building?

Kinculny in Scotland is to become the country's largest sustainable construction project.

A sustainable construction project in Scotland could influence the way in which homes and other properties are built in the future.

Kinculny is expected to be the largest such initiative in the country and has been inspired by new technologies coupled with a significant housing shortage.

It is hoped the programme will result in the construction of desirable and comfortable properties across the whole housing spectrum and Bill Burr, managing director at Chap Homes - part of the Chap Group, which was founded in 1976 - described the scheme as unlike any other development.

The industry figure noted: "It's not all about the buildings. Bricks and mortar come later. It's about creating a community where people want to live and work."

A consultation period on the project is in the pipeline for later in the month and Mr Burr said he is excited to share the mission with the public in order to gain their feedback.
