Those actively looking to sell their homes could find a number of simple measures can make the interiors of their dwelling more attractive to would-be buyers.
Graham Lock, director and co-founder of House Network - which was set up in 2004 - recommended people can de-clutter their living spaces, as well as improve their general cleanliness in a bid to make the areas more presentable.
The industry figure advised individuals invest in paint and carpets and even a small skip to rid their properties of items and furniture that has been lying around for too long.
He added: "My golden rule is that if you haven't used it for one year then either store it elsewhere or bin it completely."
A house's entrance hall is an area of the home that people may wish to pay particular attention to, as this is the place where potential purchasers will form their first and last opinions of the abode.
