Property News - New homes underway in Warwick

Warwick house hunters are to benefit from the creation of new homes in the coming months.

The first new homes to be built in Warwick for more than a decade are now being delivered, with 21 new houses set for completion in the coming months.

With an ongoing crisis in terms of the amount of available properties both for purchase and rent in the area, the Leamington Observer reports Warwick District Council has taken considerable steps to boost house building across the county in recent months.

Council head of housing and property services Andy Thompson told the local publication: "I am delighted the council is providing new homes for residents of the district, including shared ownership homes for people on middle incomes who cannot afford to buy outright."

Overall, plans are in place for the delivery of more than 5,500 new homes in Warwick by the end of the decade, but with such high demand for property at present there is still a need for more.

Mr Thompson added that the local authority will therefore also now look to pursue a range of other initiatives to further boost house building in the area in the coming years.
