Vendor Interview - Ashleigh is a large and very attractive family home that boasts a superb location on the fringes of the thriving town of Nuneaton. Weve lived in the area for a number of years now, says Tracey, and we were actually only living five minutes up the road before moving here in 2000. However our previous home was on an estate of houses, so in a built-up area, whereas here, as well as having easy access to the town centre, we have mile upon mile of lovely open countryside just a stones throw away.

When we bought the house it was a lot smaller than it is now. It was originally a rather modest 3-bed property that was built in the 1930s, but weve since almost doubled it in size and added a beautiful outer sleeve of bricks, so it now blends beautifully with the neighbouring properties. We kept the original part of the house, where we now have a large dining room that flows straight into the main living room and then out into a gorgeous new conservatory, and weve extended to create a really huge, open-plan kitchen and living area that overlooks and opens onto the garden. Its now a lovely big home, with an easy flow and so its ideal for busy family life.

The garden was very established when we moved here, so weve not had to do an awful lot to it except keep it very well maintained, continues Tracey. We have added a generous patio and a play area for the children, but the rest is mainly laid to lawn. All in all its a lovely size and so perfect for relaxing, entertaining and theres more than enough space for children to have a good run around.

Favourite Room: Id say that the kitchen is probably our favourite part of the house, says Tracey. Its a room in which we can all come together, but not feel on top of one another because as well as a large kitchen table and a breakfast bar theres also space for some comfortable sofas. We can also fling open the French doors and extend the space right out into the garden when the weather is warm.

Favourite aspect of the grounds or surrounding area: We can step out of the front door and walk or cycle for miles, and yet all of the wonderful shops and amenities of the town are just a stroll away, so in my mind the location couldnt be more perfect, says Tracey. Were also within the catchment area for one of the best comprehensive schools in Warwickshire, so its a great place to bring up a family.

Memorable event (if not another favourite room or unique feature): When we renovated and extended the house we created two lovely big bedrooms in the loft area, says Tracey. Our huge master bedroom is up there, which has its own full size bathroom. We love being up there because theres a good degree of separation from the rest of the house so it feels like a real haven.

What theyll miss most / why they are leaving: I think well miss not only the house itself but also the countryside feel of the location, says Tracey. Weve had seventeen very happy years here.
