Situated right in the heart of the highly desirable village of Hemingford Grey is this large and very attractive family home that in the past few years has been beautifully updated by the current owners. "The house was built by the previous owners in 1957, and we bought it back in 2013, there were a number of things that drew us to it," says the owner. "We could see that it could be a 'forever' home for a growing family; it's a great size both inside and out, the central village location is superb and it offered us the opportunity to improve and enhance and really put our stamp on it."

"The house certainly required updating and over time we've pretty much done everything. We began by having it connected to mains gas, we then removed the old oil tank from the back garden and had a new heating system with combi boiler installed, which has made it a very warm and comfortable home. The bathrooms were also updated and more recently we had it rewired, ceilings and some walls were re-plastered and we also took the opportunity to have the whole house redecorated, new oak flooring laid downstairs and new carpets upstairs. The property now has a modern feel, while still retaining features such as the large open fireplace in the main lounge, which give a nice reminder of its age."

"As well as updating the house, there have also been a few changes out in the garden," continues the owner. "An excessively large fig tree dominated the front garden, so that was removed and we took the opportunity to re-landscape the area, which now incorporates a large driveway and a good-size lawn - complete with tree-stump chair! To the rear we've simply maximised the lawn area in an effort to make the whole space much more family friendly. The size and sense of privacy makes it perfect for entertaining family and friends or simply just enjoying the peace and quiet."
